St. Luke's Parish

St.Luke's Church is located in downtown Newberry on the corner of Main and Calhoun Streets. The church, rectory and parishhouse sit on just over two acres with the rectory fronting Calhoun Street.

 

The church has a capacity of 125 including balcony seating. The church contains a Schantz pipe organ which was just recently upgraded.

 

The congregation of St. Luke's is comprised of 131 baptized members. Ninety percent of the members reside within the Newberry zip code area. Parishioners have been faithful in meeting pledge commitments and the parish has contributed steadily to Diocesan Stewardship.

St. Luke's has a quality music program under the direction of Dr. John Wagner and organist Bobbie Wagner. Adult Education and Youth Education are offered at St Luke's and a dedicated group of Lay Readers serve the parish.

 

St. Luke's is a participant on the Interfaith Community Council and hosts the annual MADD service .The church offers an annual Blessing of The Animals service in the fall and the ECW sponsors an annual Christmas angel tree for families in the community.
